I was lucky enough to grow up in Laguna Beach, California.
I lived there for 10 years before my family moved to Utah, and constantly miss living there–the beach, the art festivals, the hills…I’m getting filled with nostalgia right now.
I was able to return to my original stomping grounds with my family, and obviously I brought my camera with me. We went all over Laguna. We visited the tide pools, went to the beach, collected sea shells, and went to the Sawdust Art Festival. I loved visiting all of the photography booths and speaking with the photographers that displayed all of their work. They were definitely an inspiration to me.
I kind of had a field day at the tide pools and taking pictures of the different barnacles. The waves kept splashing up on the rocks too so by the time I was finished taking all my photos, my socks and shoes were soaked.
Trust me when I say that there are tons more of the tide pools on my computer that I decided not to upload. I probably will later in a separate post.
The paddleboarders here looked incredible against the turquoise of the water. This cove was perfect for paddleboardng, and even more so for taking pictures of paddleboarding. I love the silhouettes I was able to get of the three of them against the water.
Finally, a beautiful sunrise over the waves.
Here’s an article that gives some tips about how to take better pictures of coastlines. I thought that it was really helpful, so check it out!
Happy Photographing!
Lizzy, your beach pictures are amazing! I love the deep blue that you were able to capture on the barnacles. They all look great. Check out some of Haleigh’s recent work, she has been doing some awesome things! http://www.haleighklewis.com/blog/
